Six facing drug charges after Carteret County drug raid

Carteret County deputies say they seized a large amount of illegal drugs at a home on Croatan Drive outside of Newport.

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A half-dozen people have been arrested after a drug raid in one Eastern Carolina county on Thursday.

Carteret County deputies say they seized a large amount of illegal drugs at a home on Croatan Drive outside of Newport.

Confiscated were psilocybin mushrooms, mushroom seeds, crystal methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Deputies say they also seized a fully operational mushroom manufacturing kit in the home.

The raid came after numerous complaints about the home.

The following people were arrested:

Brandon Jones

2 counts of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Schedule I controlled substance

Felony sell Schedule I controlled substance

Felony deliver Schedule I controlled substance

Felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance

Felony manufacturing Schedule I controlled substance

Jones was given a $100,000 secured bond

James Davis

2 counts of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Schedule I controlled substance

Felony sell Schedule I controlled substance

Felony deliver Schedule I controlled substance

Davis’ bond was $100,000 secured

April Setzer

Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver

Setzer is being held without bond
