Serious six-vehicle crash slows traffic on U.S. 70 outside of La Grange

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 70 at the stop light outside of La Grange at Little Baltimore.

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Serious injuries were reported after a six-vehicle crash in Lenoir County this afternoon.

The accident happened shortly around 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 70 at the stop light outside of La Grange at Little Baltimore.

The Highway Patrol says the crash happened on the eastbound side of the highway.

Lenoir County Emergency Services says one of the victims was airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center while four others were taken to UNC Lenoir Health Care with minor injuries.

Troopers say at this point they do not believe anyone has died from the crash.

Pictures from the scene show one vehicle with considerable damage and debris scattered along the roadway.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
