PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Pitt County man lost his home in an early morning fire on Friday.
Alshun Love awoke to the smell of smoke at his Esther Circle mobile home.
“So, I am looking trying to see where the fire at and I went to the room door in the back and I opened it and the fire had came out, BOOM came through the whole house,” Love said.
Firefighters were called to the home around 2:00 a.m. and despite their efforts, the man’s trailer was a complete loss.
Crews from Winterville Community, Winterville, Ayden, and Eastern Pines fire departments were called to the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, while the American Red Cross is helping the homeowner.
