PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A body found this morning in a mobile home outside of Farmville could be that of a missing Farmville man.

Sgt. Lee Darnell confirms that a man’s body was found around 10:25 a.m. inside a mobile home on U.S. 258, between Stantonsburg Road and Interstate 587.

Crime scene tape surrounds the trailer and multiple sheriff’s office cruisers are at the scene.

Family members tell WITN News that the body may be that of Bobby Barnes, a 60-year-old man who was last seen in Farmville a week ago. They believe the man died several days ago.

Darnell says no other information is being released as their investigation is in its early stages.
