DEPUTIES: Man arrested after vehicle and foot chase in Rocky Mount

Authorities say Clark was taken into custody after he ran into an apartment in the 1700 block of Fletcher Drive

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A man is in custody after failing to obey a traffic stop and leading deputies on a chase on Friday in Rocky Mount.

The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office says Corporal Harris was working enforcement in the Meadowbrook area when he saw an expired vehicle registration tag.

They the driver, Raymond Clark, began traveling at at high rate of speed, ending at a home on Windsor Drive, and fleeing on foot to which Corporal Harris gave chase.

Deputies say Corporal Harris was later able to take Clark into custody without incident after he ran into an apartment in the 1700 block of Fletcher Drive.

Authorities say Clark faces a list of charges including felony flee to elude arrest, driving while license revoked and expired registration.

Clark was issued a $7,500 secured bond, an additional $40,000 secured bond for additional warrants, and placed in the Edgecombe County Detention Center.
