GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Rain was intense today at times leading to flash flooding in a couple of counties. While rain remains possible overnight, it shouldn’t be too crazy. Showers and a few downpours will be possible as you head out the door in the morning.
Over the next few days, not much changes with the pattern. Warm and humid conditions will stick around through the weekend. Highs will be in the 80s on wetter days and the 90s on drier days. The heat index will still hit the low 100s at times as the air remains very humid. As for rain chances, some days things will be more scattered and other days it’ll be almost widespread like today and Monday. The severe threat looks very low for the rest of the week. Still, watch for flash flooding and damaging wind gusts with any stronger storms. If we see sunshine on Thursday and the atmosphere can recover, we’ll probably see another big round of rain. Friday and Saturday look more scattered to isolated before chances rise Sunday and Monday.
Next week, we might see humidity fall a little bit. With a break in the rain chances, highs may return to the mid-90s and heat advisories may be needed again.
