Woman inmate who died inside Lenoir County jail identified

Stephanie Osowski was found around 7:15 a.m. Saturday, according to deputies.

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A woman who died inside the Lenoir County jail has been identified.

Stephanie Osowski was found around 7:15 a.m. Saturday, according to deputies.

The 40-year-old Millsboro, Delaware woman has been in the jail since this past June and was being held for multiple drug-related offenses, including trafficking in opium/heroin.

An autopsy was done on the body and those results are pending, according to a news release.

The State Bureau of Investigation is conducting the death investigation.

It is the second death in the jail in less than a year.

Last March, 48-year-old James Hill hanged himself while being held at the jail, according to deputies.
