PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Winterville Community Fire Department crews fought a tractor fire Sunday morning.

Winterville Community Fire Department Chief, Jonathan Heltzel told WITN that crews were called to the 1000 block of Jack Jones Road Sunday morning around 7:10 a.m.

When crews arrived, Heltzel says a tractor was fully engulfed in flames. A short time later, crews extinguished the fire.

There were no injuries and a cause has not been determined.

Greenville Utilities Commission also responded to ensure powerlines above the tractor were not damaged by the fire.
