Williamston man facing multiple drug charges after traffic stop

MARTIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Williamston man is facing multiple drug charges after a traffic stop on Friday.

The Martin County Narcotics Unit stopped the vehicle at Bear Grass Road and Goose Road in Bear Grass because they believed the driver had outstanding warrants.

Inside the vehicle they found fentanyl, ecstasy, marijuana, and $1,218 in cash.

Kelvin Vaughn was charged with three counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sale or deliver cocaine, two counts of trafficking in opium, possession with intent to manufacture, sale or deliver Schedule I controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sale or deliver marijuana.

The 31-year-old Vaughn was jailed on a $850,000 secured bond and has his first court appearance on Monday.
