Weather may impact Atlantic Beach Music Fest

ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (WITN) -The tenth annual Atlantic Beach Music Festival on May 18th is expected to see severe thunderstorms and showers.

While the weather may turn away some music-goers, the people being impacted the most are the businesses that thrive from the music fest.

Patricia Davis, the owner of Davis Beachwear worries that the storm will negatively hit her business due to the foot traffic her business receives during the music fest.

“It will greatly impact our business because the beach music festival is a huge weekend. We love it. It was our biggest day of the year last year. So, I am praying that the sun will shine,” said Patricia Davis

Some are not too worried about bad weather though. “Rain or shine, we’ll have locals and regulars that come here all the time,” said Jasmine Luciano, manager at Hang Ten Donuts.

The Atlantic Beach Music Festival is still planned for May 18 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on the boardwalk at the circle in Atlantic Beach. The Beach Music Festival is Atlantic Beach’s largest event of the year
