Washington County boys top Bertie to stay undefeated, Falcons girls win in overtime on rivalry night

WINDSOR, N.C. (WITN) – The Washington County boys came into Bertie tonight undefeated and that is how they left with a one-score win over the Falcons 55-52.

The Bertie girls able to battle to an overtime win over their rival Washington County 58-53.

“It felt like a playoff game. I always tell the girls stay calm, just stay calm,” says Bertie Head Coach Chris Jordan, “Some of them been to the championship game so they know how that feels. I try to stay calm for them to stay calm so thank God for the victory.”

The schools meet again to close the regular season on February 16th.
