WALLACE CARD THEFT: Woman tells police it must have been someone that looks like her

WALLACE, N.C. (WITN) -A woman from one Eastern Carolina town is facing multiple charges after someone had their debit card stolen.

Wallace police have charged Angela Thompson-Williams with four counts of obtaining property by false pretense, five counts of identity theft, and five counts of financial card fraud.

Police say the victim’s stolen card was used at multiple businesses in Wallace without her permission.

When interviewed by police, Thompson-Williams said it was not her who used the stolen card, but must have been someone that looks like her. Police note that the suspect and the victim live close to each other.

The 48-year-old Thompson-Williams was jailed on a $20,000 secured bond.
