Voter registration deadline today

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Anyone wanting to vote in the 2024 statewide primary election needs to be registered by Friday.

The Pitt County Board of Elections says today is the last day to register to vote for the primary election on March 5th.

Officials say eligible people who are not registered by today can register and vote at any early voting site during the early voting period, Thursday, February 15, 2024, through Saturday, March 2, 2024.

People registering for the first time in North Carolina will need to provide home address documents.

Voters who want to change parties must do so today by 5 p.m.

Voters will be asked to show photo ID when they vote.

“If a voter does not have an ID when they go to vote, they can still have their vote counted by either signing a form at the polls to explain why they are unable to show ID or by voting a provisional ballot and returning to County Board of Elections with their ID by 5:00 p.m. on March 14, 2024,” says Dave Davis, Director of Elections.

Anyone planning to vote early can do so at the following locations:

  • County Office Building, PATS Conference Room (1717 W. 5th St., Greenville, NC 27834)
  • Agricultural Center (403 Government Cir., Greenville, NC 27834)
