ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (WITN) – People are flocking to North Carolina beaches this time of year, and for good reason.

USA Today singled out ten standout beaches that are go-to destinations along the North Carolina Crystal Coast.

Atlantic Beach was ranked seventh place for best beach, and there’s no denying it made the list for good reason.

From family-owned businesses along the boardwalk and music festivals to sea turtle programs and recent improvements, Atlantic Beach continues to attract visitors.

One Wilson couple who decided to make Atlantic Beach their new home says they wanted to experience its beauty every morning.

“It’s just a beautiful place to visit. It’s quiet, It’s quiet, it’s easy to get to, and you have easy access to the beaches and the sound. You can visit Emerald Isle, Morehead City, Beaufort, and it’s just a great central place” says Atlantic Beach resident Thomas Neville.

USA Today has Ocean Isle Beach first, followed by Carolina Beach and Kure Beach.
