UPDATE: Suspect charged in the New Bern shooting in a nightclub parking lot

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Police in New Bern charged a suspect from another shooting where two people were killed and a third person wounded last year.

Nameek Wiggins, an adult black man, was searched during the day and then was found around 10 p.m. in Craven Terrace.

After a foot chase, Wiggins was arrested and the police seized drugs and firearms from him, according to the New Bern Police Department.

Wiggins was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, assault with a deadly weapon with an intent to kill, felony interfering with an electric monitoring device, resisting, delaying, and obstructing, and possession with intent to manufacture and distribute marijuana.

Wiggins was placed on a $335,500 secured bond. His next court date is scheduled for June 24th, 2024.

Police say the shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. in the parking lot of the 30 Summ Ultra Lounge on South Glenburnie Road.

The victim showed up at CarolinaEast Medical Center where they were treated and released, according to officers.

On January 21, 2023, two men were killed and a third wounded in a shooting in the same parking lot. The man who survived, Clonzie Nealy, Jr., was charged with two counts of murder.
