UPDATE: Suspect arrested in shooting death near Goldsboro business

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – Police say a man is in custody in connection to a deadly shooting near a retail store on Saturday in Wayne County.

Goldsboro police say 20-year-old Hykeem Coley was arrested without incident at around 7:19 pm in the 800 block of Olivia Lane.

Police say Coley was charged with first degree murder and possession of a stolen firearm and placed in the Wayne County Detention Center without bond.

His first court appearance is set for Monday, April 29th.

Police say a man is dead after a shooting near a retail store on Saturday in Wayne County.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, at around 9:10 am, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at Kim’s Beauty Supplies located at 718 East Ash Street.

Upon arrival, they say they found 26-year-old Kristopher Faison suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say emergency medical personnel responded and transported the victim to UNC Health Wayne where he was pronounced deceased.

They say this is an active investigation and no further information will be provided at this time.
