UPDATE: Police release name of person killed in New Bern shooting

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Authorities have identified the man who was was shot and killed in New Bern on Saturday.

New Bern Police say 41-year-old Antorio Hargett died at the scene in the parking lot of Something Special VIP on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The say the second victim, 33-year-old Raquisha Brothers was treated and released from ECU Health Medical Center.

One person is dead, and another was airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center after an early morning shooting in New Bern.

Police say just before 4:00 am on Saturday, officers found two people shot in the parking lot of Something Special VIP at the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Police said they worked to help the two victims but one died at the scene.

The other was transferred to CarolinaEast Medical Center, then airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

The victims’ names are not being released yet, and the police are still investigating the case.

According to the New Bern police, there does not seem to be an ongoing threat to the community.
