GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Greenville police said that a woman died as a result of an accident this afternoon.
The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of Thomas Langston Road and Providence Place and involved a Lowe’s Home Improvement Truck and a car.
Police said the driver of the car died before officers arrived on scene while the driver of the truck was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. We’re told officers are still working to notify family of the woman who was killed.
Officials said a preliminary investigation showed that the driver of the car didn’t yield to traffic on Thomas Langston Road as they tried a left turn from Providence Place. That caused a crash with the truck as it was heading west.
Officer Scott Venable told WITN at the scene that two people in the box truck were sent to ECU Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Thomas Langston Road was closed for nearly three hours because of the accident.
