WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) – A man wanted for a shooting that sent a person to the hospital has turned himself in.
Captain Mike Broadwell with Washington police said that Tyrell Blount is in custody for allegedly shooting a 58-year-old man in the foot on Monday.
The shooting happened on the 1100 block of Van Norden Street and police said was the result of a “disagreement.”
Blount was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm in the city limit, and possession of a firearm by felon.
He’s being held in the Beaufort County jail without bond. He was also given a $50,000 secured bond for an outstanding probation violation.
The man who was shot has since been released from the hospital.
