UPDATE: GUC says power restored to all residential customers

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Utility crews say that they have managed to restore power to all residential customers.

The Greenville Utilities Commission said in a 12:15 update that they are now focused on industrial customers.

Greenville police said that the outage started in the Highway 33 & Highway 264 corridor.

Officers earlier in the day were dispatched to numerous intersections to direct traffic.

The outage impacted everything from homes, to events, to businesses in areas of the city and Pitt County.

Some have also reported cell phone signal issues though it’s not known if that is related to the outage.
