UPDATE: Goldsboro police identify body found in Wayne County

Police expect to send a press release later

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – Police have released the name the person discovered in Wayne County on Sunday.

The Goldsboro Police Department says the body of 34-year-old Kirsten Alves was found around 12:34 pm after responding to a call in the wooded area near the 2200 block of Royall Avenue.

Police learned that Alves was discovered in a tent in the area.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene.

Authorities say Alves was identified with the assistance of Wayne County Probation/Parole Officers.

They say investigation into cause and manner of death is ongoing however, no foul play is currently suspected.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, it was discovered in the wooded area behind 1005 North Spence Avenue in Goldsboro.
