UPDATE: Former restaurant manager wanted for embezzlement turns herself in

Friday, police say the 32-year-old woman turned herself in to the Lenoir County Magistrate.

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A former manager of an Eastern Carolina barbecue restaurant wanted for not making bank deposits has turned herself in, according to police.

Kinston police say Haley Walton, of Jacksonville, was the manager of Smithfield Chicken & BBQ on U.S. 70 back in April when the embezzlements happened.

Warrants two counts of embezzlement and two counts of larceny by an employee.

Friday, police say the 32-year-old woman turned herself in to the Lenoir County Magistrate where she was served and got a secured bond.
