UPDATE: Fire officials say brush fire in Carteret Co. 0% contained

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Firefighters say there is no progress in the brush fire in Carteret County on Sunday.

According to the NC Forest Service, the blaze is 0% contained over 100 acres.

The social media post for residents to evacuate the area remains as of 8:00 pm.

Firefighters say residents are being evacuated in Carteret County because of a brush fire on Sunday.

In a social media post, the Down East Fire Department says people are being asked to leave the area in Morris Marina Road and Old Cedar Island road.

They say a brush fire is threatening structures and to avoid the area.
