BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies say the missing man who was last seen on May 7th has been found safe.

They say John Wheeler was located at 7:30 pm on Saturday night.

The Bertie County sheriff’s office is looking for a missing man who was last seen on May 7th, Tuesday.

John Wheeler was last seen in the 2400 block of Governors Rd, wearing a dark blue graphic t-shirt with blue pants.

Wheeler is 5′9″ tall, 150 lbs., with white hair and brown eyes.

According to the sheriff’s office, he was last seen walking into a wooded area behind a house but may have made his way back out of the roadway and been picked up.

Wheeler’s direction of travel is unknown at the time.
