TYRRELL COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A school system in the east is delaying the start of school Wednesday morning because of weather.

Tyrrell County Schools says it is delaying the start of schools by two hours this morning due to heavy fog.

This morning, Tyrrell County is under a dense fog advisory. The WITN Weather team has issued a First Alert Weather Day for the morning hours of Wednesday, saying visibility will drop below 1/4 mile at times through 9:00 a.m.

Other counties affected this morning are Beaufort, Craven, Dare, Hyde, Jones, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, and Washington Counties.
