Two people found dead with gunshot wounds in Goldsboro during a police welfare check

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – A welfare check by police in one Eastern Carolina city led to the discovery of a man and woman dead with gunshot wounds.

Goldsboro police say Saturday just after 4:30 p.m. officers went to the 400 block of Fussell street for a welfare check.

When they arrived, they found two people who had suffered from gunshot wounds inside of a home.

Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced both of them dead.

The two people were identified as Jamelle Best, 53, and Elaina Ebersole, 44, both of Goldsboro.
