Two men arrested for multiple drug and gun charges

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Two men were arrested Tuesday on multiple drug and gun charges after a traffic stop.

46-year-old Michael Hicks of Grifton and 35-year-old Sean Branham of Kinston were in a vehicle that was investigated as part of proactive enforcement by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office SCARR, or the Street Crimes and Ready Response unit.

During the stop, detectives found MDMA, or ecstasy, mixed with fentanyl, along with cocaine, marijuana, and a concealed firearm.

Hicks and Branham were arrested.

Hicks is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and/or deliver MDMA, felony possession with intent to sell and/or deliver schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Branham is charged with misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun, misdemeanor possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hicks received a secured bond for his charges while Branham received a no-bond hold due to being out on pretrial release for previous pending charges.

Both were booked into the Lenoir County Detention Center.
