Two men arrested after traffic stop in Halifax County

The firearm was seized and both suspects were placed under arrest without incident.

ENFIELD, N.C. (WITN) – Authorities say two men are in custody after a traffic stop on Sunday in Halifax County.

Enfield police say Sergeant Phillip Moyer and Corporal Kevin Raper conducted the checkpoint on Bell Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Avenue.

Officers learned that the driver Ka’nazi Taylor was in Possession of a Stolen Firearm and that passenger Ton’Nazzi Armstrong had a outstanding warrant for assault by strangulation, second degree kidnapping, assault by pointing a gun and injury to personal property.

The firearm was seized and both suspects were placed in the Halifax County Detention Center pending their court dates .

Police say Armstrong received a $120,000 secured bond and Taylor was charged with the Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm and received no bond.
