Two charged with attempted murder after shooting in Wallace

WALLACE, N.C. (WECT) – Two people were arrested after a shooting on Brice Street in Wallace on Friday, May 3.

Per the Wallace Police Department, officers responded to Brice Street and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was airlifted and in critical condition.

After a couple hours, investigators arrested 20-year-old Byrone Gaines and 18-year-old Lamaya Bouldin and charged them with attempted first-degree murder. They are being held without bond.

Wallace PD says that officials seized the vehicle and two weapons used in the shooting and that 21 shell casings were recovered rom the scene.

“This shooting was not related to or in proximity to the Strawberry Festival. The shooting was not random, and there is no continuing threat to the public,” a Wallace PD announcement states.
