ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An airport in the east is hosting an event Monday to make security lines easier for airline travelers taking to the sky.
Albert J. Ellis Airport (OAJ) is hosting a TSA PreCheck enrollment event today with IDMIA, a TSA PreCheck authorized enrollment provider.
Travelers have the opportunity to sign up today through February 9 at the passenger terminal inside the airport at 264 Albert Ellis Airport Road.
Those interested can apply and join the program from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“Once enrolled, you’ll gain access to shorter check-in lines, and be able to save yourself the hassle of removing your shoes, jackets, laptops, and liquids in your future travels. Even if you don’t consider yourself a frequent flyer, your PreCheck enrollment lasts 5 years, so the benefits will likely outweigh the $78 fee,” says Interim Airport Director Mitch Sprunger.
Applicants must make an appointment for the event and travelers are encouraged to visit www.tsa.gov/precheck and enroll early.
Officials say the enrollment process is quick, convenient, and even faster when the application is completed online beforehand.
In-person enrollment requires that applicants provide proof of identity, proof of citizenship, fingerprints, and a photo.
