TRAFFIC ALERT: Greenville intersection closed after car hits utility pole

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina police department is asking commuters to avoid an intersection after authorities closed a road Tuesday morning.

Greenville Boulevard at 10th is closed after a car hit a utility pole, according to a post on the Greenville Police Department.

Greenville Utilities Commission says a pole is down and crews are out working to get the repairs done. Officials say they expect the pole and wiring to be back up around 9:15 a.m.

GPD is asking people to avoid the area and use an alternate route for morning commutes.
