RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – Lottery players in the east have the chance to it big in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing.

Tonight’s Mega Millions lottery drawing has up for grabs a $498 million jackpot, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery. The winner can take home that amount as an annuity or $245.3 million in cash.

“The excitement in North Carolina really builds when we see a jackpot of this size,” said Terri Rose, chief brand officer of the lottery. “We hope to celebrate with a big winner in our state.”
