Three teens charged with attempted murder in Bertie County shooting case

BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Three teenagers in one Eastern Carolina county are now charged with attempted murder after a shooting last month.

Bertie County deputies say the three boys, two who are 16 and the third 17 years old, are charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and armed robbery.

The shooting happened back on March 31st on Governors Road, south of Kelford. The victim had been shot multiple times and airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center. Deputies expect him to make a full recovery.

The three teens are now at the Pitt County Juvenile Detention Facility awaiting trial.
