NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Three people have been charged in a weekend shooting that killed a man in one Eastern Carolina county.

Elijah Battle, Yasun Powell, and a 17-year-old have been charged with first degree murder and armed robbery.

The shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. Saturday on Exum Road in Nash County during a large party.

Deputies say Caleb Turner was shot multiple times as the suspects were trying to rob him of his gun.

The 17-year-old was arrested Saturday evening while Battle and Powell turned themselves in Monday morning.

The two men are being held without bond in separate county jails.
