GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – WITN’s Teacher of the Week is Taylor Evans.

Evans is a theater teacher at Christ Covenant School in Pitt County.

She is in her second year of teaching after graduation from East Carolina University.

Evans says as a Christian, she knew she wanted to teach in a space which allowed her to combine her faith and love of theater.

She says many of her middle and high school students are also involved in sports. Evans says meets with them and creates a calendar to work with them personally if they are seeking help with singing or acting.

Evan’s nomination says she has cultivated a learning environment that encourages hard work, ownership, comradery, and leadership skills that will help students succeed both on and off the stage.

Evans attributes much of her success back to her students, saying they are just as dedicated to the class as she is to teaching them.
