GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – WITN’s Teacher of the Week is Sarah Wagner.

Wagner is a music teacher at Greene County Intermediate School. She teaches fourth and fifth-grade students.

She is in her second year of teaching. She teaches the students to play the ukulele in her classroom but is a vocalist herself.

A North Carolina native, she attended East Carolina University and said she fell in love with the area after interning at Greene County Primary.

According to her nomination, her classes are filled with music, she exudes enthusiasm for her craft and she provides opportunities for students to show off their hard work in the community.

Wagner says she has big ambitions for the school’s music program. She has already organized performances at local events like the Snow Hill Tree Lighting and the Greenville United FC.

Not only partnering with leaders in the communities for the benefit of her students, but Wagner’s nomination also says she teams up with other teachers, citing students may have music class in the gym doing drums and movement with the PE class.
