Super Bowl champion hosts block party and youth camp in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -An Eastern Carolina city is ready for a fun-filled weekend as a Super Bowl champion wide receiver takes over.

North Carolina native Cornell Powell returns to Greenville this Friday and Saturday to host a block party and his third annual youth football camp.

Powell has won two Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The block party, happening from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Greenville Toyota Amphitheater, 105 East 1st St, will feature music, games, and plenty of festivities to bring the community together.

On Saturday, Powell’s free football camp for kids ages 6-14 will provide a unique opportunity to learn from NFL and collegiate players. As part of “The Powell Project,” Powell’s nonprofit focused on youth empowerment, this camp aims to inspire and develop future leaders.

Registration for the camp closed on June 30th.
