Sub-machine gun found in Wayne County drug raid

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies in one Eastern Carolina county say they found a sub-machine gun in a drug raid on Thursday.

Wayne County deputies, along with Goldsboro police, the SBI, and ATF agents raided a home on Horsepen Lane outside of Mount Olive.

Deputies say they found 14 guns, including one having the potential to be a sub-machine gun. They also seized cocaine, marijuana, and illicit mushrooms.

Jordan Johnston was charged with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver Schedule I controlled substances, trafficking marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substances, possessing a stolen firearm, and possessing a weapon of mass destruction. The 24-year-old is being held on no bond.

Deputies also arrested Adrian Purnell-Perkins on one charge of trafficking cocaine. The 23-year-old Purnell-Perkins was given a $75,000 secured bond.
