State health officials confirm two more children have died from the flu

The state Department of Health and Human Services released updated numbers this afternoon.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – Two more children have died from the flu in North Carolina.

The state Department of Health and Human Services released updated numbers this afternoon.

That brings pediatric deaths to 12 for this flu season. Five of those were children four years of age or younger, and seven between 5 and 17 years old.

DHHS says 10 more deaths have been confirmed across the state since the last report a week ago. The total number of deaths now stands at 266, compared to 196 last season.
