Spotlight on Cancer revealed to community at Shepard Cancer Center

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) – The importance of prevention and early detection of cancer was illuminated Thursday night in Washington.

The Shepard Cancer Center Development Council revealed its Spotlight on Cancer to the community.

Spotlight on Cancer is an illumination of the colors of cancer on trees throughout the ECU Health Beaufort Hospital and Shepard Cancer Center campus in Washington.

The goal of Spotlight on Cancer is to stress how important prevention and early detection of cancer can be.

Each month the center will share that message and the hope is that when people see the lighted trees it will be a reminder to get those important cancer screenings.
