Sheriff: Nash County men repeatedly raped woman with mental concerns

NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A third man has been found for what deputies say was the repeated rape of a 20-year-old woman who is a ward of the state and under the care of the ARC of North Carolina.

The sheriff’s office says they responded to Nash UNC Health Care about the sexual assault of a woman.

The victim said she was picked up outside of her Rocky Mount home on February 10th and taken to a residence in the 2900 block of Highway 581 in Spring Hope. It was there that she said was kept inside and raped by multiple individuals throughout the weekend, until she was discovered on February 12th.

Authorities have charged Markeefe Scriven with second-degree forcible rape and second-degree forcible sex. Roylando Lucas is charged with second-degree forcible sex and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Scriven is in the Nash County Detention Center under $100,000. Bond for Lucas is $101,000.

Deputies say Aaron Lucas turned himself in today to authorities.

Investigators say Scriven initially committed a forcible sex offense with the victim when he came into contact with her at an auction on February 10th. Later that night authorities say he and another person picked the woman up at her residence, reportedly to bring her food, but then told her to get in the truck.

The victim told investigators while she was being raped there were guns, drugs and alcohol present, and she was told that she could not go outside of the house or somebody would see her and they would get in trouble.

Deputies say their investigation into the rape continues with additional arrests and charges pending.
