CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Two state agencies are helping with the investigation into a deadly fire this morning in Craven County.

Emergency Services Director Stanley Kite says the fire happened at a mobile home on U.S. 17 north of Bridgeton near Old Vanceboro Road.

He said that the call came in around 8:40 a.m. and crews remained on the scene this afternoon.

The Craven County Fire Marshal, the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, the SBI, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are conducting a joint investigation into the fire.
