BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Eastern Carolina.

Bertie County Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin says that deputies are at the scene of the shooting.

Ruffin says that no deputies were injured.

In his brief social media post, Ruffin did not say where in the county the shooting happened or if anyone else was injured.

He says a detailed release will be provided later tonight.
