WILSON, N.C. (WITN) – The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was called in after an officer-involved shooting in a county in the East.

The Wilson Police Department says around 12:30 a.m., Sunday, police were called to gunshots being fired at the 900 block of Hood Street.

Once police arrived, they said they identified the suspect who was posing a threat.

Gunfire was exchanged between the police and the suspect.

The police say the suspect was killed and no one else was injured in the incident.

The SBI is handling the case.
