Rocky Mount police: Men arrested for selling drugs from hotel

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) – A several-month-long investigation into the sale of illegal drugs at a hotel has landed three men in jail.

Rocky Mount Police say Reginald Lawrence,48, Jaquan Ricks, 33, and Antoine Avery, 31, were arrested Friday.

Police conducted a day-long operation for the search warrant at the Executive Inn at 1821 N. Wesleyan Blvd.

During the search, police say they found less than a pound of marijuana, packaged heroin for sale, raw unpackaged heroin, crack cocaine, clonazepam, and two handguns.

Lawrence was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and distribute heroin, felony possession of a firearm, and a parole violation.

Lawrence was placed in the Nash County jail under no bond.

Ricks was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and distribute heroin.

Ricks received a $20,000 secured bond and posted bond at the magistrate’s office.  

Avery was charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed handgun, and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Avery received a $200,000 secured bond and was taken to the Nash County Jail.
