Rocky Mount police investigating man’s death after early morning shooting

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) – Police in the east say they are investigating the Wednesday morning shooting death of a man and are asking for the public’s help.

The Rocky Mount Police Department says a man was pronounced dead by Edgecombe County EMS early this morning after officers found him shot and suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers say they were called around 2:15 a.m. to the 1100 block of Cypress Street.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
