LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Lenoir County 911 has received multiple reports of trees and power lines down in the Sandy Bottom area near Hwy 55 West and NC 903 South.

Lenoir County Emergency Services Director Murry Stroud says a few residents in the area also reported seeing a possible tornado.

The Sandy Bottom Fire Department is on scene working to remove trees and Tri-County EMC has been notified.

Stroud says they are currently estimating up to 200 residents are without power.

A WITN viewer also told us there is damage at the Kinston Jetport.

Lenoir County Emergency Management staff are actively working to assess for additional damage across the county.
