Railroad says service to resume after derailment in Beaufort Co.

BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A railroad says service was expected to be restored to a rail line Sunday after a train derailment on Saturday.

CSX says 14 cars on a Norfolk Southern track derailed around 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Aurora.

The railroad says four cars were empty and 10 were carrying molten sulfur when the locomotive went off the tracks near the new substation on Highway 306.

There were no injuries and CSX says the cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
