Power pole hit in Goldsboro traffic crash

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – A power pole here in the east was struck after a car crashed into it.

Saturday around 10 a.m., the Goldsboro Police Department was called to a single-vehicle traffic crash in the 400 block of North Spence Avenue.

Officials say, Miranda Jones, of Goldsboro, was driving a Toyota passenger car going North Spence Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road hitting a power pole.

Police say the car then rolled over and came to rest on its side.

Jones was taken to Wayne UNC Health for treatment of minor injuries, according to officials.

She was cited for exceeding the posted speed limit, careless and reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane control.

The investigation is still ongoing and other charges may be filed.
