POLICE: Snow Hill man faces 29 charges after breaking into cars & identity theft

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – The Kinston Police Department says video evidence led to the arrest of a Snow Hill man for breaking into a car, and further investigation, according to the police department, revealed the man was using people’s bank cards and stealing people’s identity.

Kinston police officers say they were called to a vehicle breaking and entering in the Glenwood Avenue area. Officers say video obtained showed 26-year-old Mohnee Bostic as the offender.

The police department says further investigation into the car break-ins revealed the Bostic, of Snow Hill, was attempting to use bank cards he found in the vehicles.

Investigators say they obtained warrants on Bostic and arrested him in the Adkin Street area.

Bostic is facing six counts of breaking & entering a motor vehicle, 19 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, two counts of attempting to obtain property by false pretenses, and two counts of identity theft.

Bostic is currently on pre-trial release for previous vehicle breaking and entering.

Officials say additional charges are expected.
